1. Do you have same day appointments? Yes, we aim to address concerns in a timely fashion, and our schedule is adjusted according to the demand of the season
2. Where do your overflow patients go?
We'll try our best to accommodate your request to be seen because we value your trust and confidence in us; and please realize there may be some waiting time when there's an overflow of patients.
3. What happens when you go on vacation? Do you have a partner?
This is a solo practice. Vacation coverage is usually by an onsite locum pediatrician.
4. Where do your patients get their lab tests and x-ray done?
Mills Peninsula Health Services satellite lab and x-ray facility at Shoreline Station is recently closed as of March 15, 2009. The closest site for lab and x-ray now is Seton Coastside facility in Moss Beach. Mills Peninsula Medical Group (MPMG) patients may need to travel to San Mateo or Burlingame for their ancillary services.
5.What if my child needs medical attention or I need to leave a message after hours?
If it is a medical emergency, please call 911. Otherwise, please call the office mainline, 650-560-9137, to be connected with the answering service and a triage nurse. The Triage nurse is capable of providing health advice and referring you to the proper location for care if needed. Dr. Lu participates in a call pool with seven other pediatricians in the area to answer your questions, take emergency room calls, and take care of your child in the unfortunate event of hospitalization.
