Dr. Lu received his undergraduate degree from UC Davis with highest honors in Microbiology with a minor in Music, and then pursued his medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his pediatrics training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Lu has worked in both private practice and academic settings before embarking on a solo practice. At Children's Hospital in Oakland, he was teaching attending in the Urgent Care Clinic, Resident Continuity Clinic, and Southeast Asian Clinic, and later served as a clinical instructor for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. Besides English, he is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese, and he also speaks medical Spanish. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, swimming, jogging, farming and traveling; he has continued to run marathons and half marathons since joining Team In Training in the summer of 2006.
Laura Breckenridge is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, who specializes in Pediatric Primary Care. Laura completed her undergraduate degree at UC Davis, majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Spanish. She then went on to earn her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Laura has been working for over 19 years in a variety of general and specialty pediatric offices in San Francisco and on the Peninsula. She speaks basic medical Spanish. Laura lives in San Mateo with her husband, 2 daughters, and a dog. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, cooking, being the Troop Leader for both her daughters' Girl Scout Troops, and watching her daughters play sports.
Claudia Juarez was born and raised in Guanajuato, Mexico, and she immigrated to the Bay area in 2005. She is a certified Medical Assistant from San Jose. She is very passionate about working with children and making sure they receive proper care when in need. Over the past 10 years, she has worked with children of all ages as well as adults. When she is not working, she likes to spend time with her family and go hiking. Currently, she is taking classes at College of San Mateo to further her education and accomplish her dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner.
Gema Porras was born in Jalisco, Mexico and raised in San Mateo, California. She is a certified Medical Assistant from the College of San Mateo. Over the past 10 years, she has worked with children of all ages in different school settings. Gema loves being part of the team here, and she strives to make the most out of every day at the office. On her time away from the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family. Gema also enjoys working out and running or watching sports. Gema is looking forward to furthering her education and becoming a Nurse Practitioner.
